76. How to Get Clients While You Sleep: An SEO Success Story for Service Providers with Sonia Urquilla
In this episode, I chat with Sonia Urquilla, an SEO genius coach who helps female coaches and service providers get found online through effective website optimization.
After being laid off from her corporate job in January 2024, Sonia built a thriving SEO coaching business that replaced her corporate salary within months. Her story is a powerful reminder that sometimes the skills we initially resist (she once hated SEO!) can become our greatest strengths.
What makes this conversation especially valuable for service providers is Sonia's ability to demystify the often overwhelming world of SEO. She shares that many website designers never set up the crucial Google Analytics and Search Console accounts that let Google know your website exists - leaving many service providers with beautiful websites that no one can find.
Sonia also reveals how she transformed her business by learning to speak clearly about her offers, creating a framework that makes her services easy to understand and irresistible to clients. Her journey from technical jargon to client-centered language mirrors the transformation she helps her clients achieve with their websites.
What You'll Learn:
- The #1 technical issue preventing most service provider websites from appearing in Google searches
- Why your posts on social media disappear while your website content can generate leads for years
- How to optimize your website to appear in AI search results (like ChatGPT)
- The importance of using your clients' exact language in your website copy
- Why investing in coaching accelerated Sonia's business growth
- How "taking the stage" in other people's events can attract high-quality clients

[00:01:10] Andrea Elibero: Hello and welcome to Soulpreneur Scaling Stories. I am very excited to have Sonia Urquhia here with us today, who is the SEO genius coach for female coaches. Hello, Sonia. How are you?
[00:01:26] Sonia Urquilla: Hello, Andrea. I'm excited to be here. Thank you.
[00:01:30] Andrea Elibero: Amazing. So why don't you tell everybody what it is that you do?
[00:01:35] Sonia Urquilla: So yeah, I'm a SEO genius. I, my clients call me like that. So I own it. So SEO genius, SEO coach, SEO expert. So what I do is I help female coaches, female entrepreneur service providers. My mission really, really is to have them own every single stage. Oh, search engine with the website. So [00:02:00] not only get qualified traffic, but also get rankings, be featured on articles, and more importantly, get leads from the website. I had some clients that for years, you know, we're not getting anything and just working together, they started ranking and getting leads. So that's my mission serving them so they can serve more people. Yeah,
[00:02:24] Andrea Elibero: Awesome. And so when, what drew you to SEO? Why were you like, Ooh, I really love this.
[00:02:31] Sonia Urquilla: It's very, very interesting because I hated SEO the very first time I came across a bit of it I did a career transition
[00:02:43] Andrea Elibero: Mm hmm.
[00:02:44] Sonia Urquilla: during that career transition, I invested in a career coach and that's where I discovered like marketing, but I didn't know where to go. So I came across this SEO. SEO course, it was very, very technical and I hated it.[00:03:00]
[00:03:00] Sonia Urquilla: I'm like, this is not for me. Let me go into content creation. But my mentor at the time, my career coach, she saw that course on LinkedIn and she was, I was asking her, give me some hands on experience so I can add on my resume. And she saw the SEO course and she's like, Oh, I actually need somebody to update, optimize my website. And I did it. I'm like, dive in. And she started getting traffic rankings. And that's what, where it was like, Hmm. Maybe this is for me.
[00:03:37] Andrea Elibero: Okay.
[00:03:38] Sonia Urquilla: that.
[00:03:38] Andrea Elibero: So that's so interesting. So it was it almost sounded accidental, but I want to say that it was almost like, like an intervention from the universe or something, you know?
[00:03:51] Sonia Urquilla: Absolutely. Yes. I say that every time because that was the turning point for me. Like I was like, very [00:04:00] like, no, no, no. And I forgot actually about this course and I left it on my LinkedIn. I forgot about it. I was not even going to mention it in my resume on my interviews, but she found it. And that was the turning point.
[00:04:14] Sonia Urquilla: Very accidental. Very like you said, yeah, it's just intervention for, from, from God. Yeah, absolutely.
[00:04:22] Andrea Elibero: what was it that I,
[00:04:25] Andrea Elibero: I want to ask more about this because I feel like it's something that could help other service providers, right? You're like, oh, I don't like this thing And then when you dove more into it, you're like actually it's kind of cool So i'm just curious if you I don't know if you want to dive into it a little bit more if there were some sort Of advice you could give or like from your experience what you could tell other service providers who Are looking at something and they're like, oh no, that's not for me Mm hmm.
[00:04:55] Andrea Elibero: Mm
[00:04:57] Sonia Urquilla: uh, try it. You never know what's [00:05:00] going to happen. And I feel that for me, it's like, I don't want to have regrets. So if I say no to something, but I feel that there's might be like a 10 percent chance that I might be good at it or something. I would like to try it because just by saying yes to this project, even though I hated the technicality of what I was doing, when I dive in, I found ways to become resourceful, to become like the genius of it because I was helping somebody. through that, it led to Like me getting a really, you know, a full time job being able to transition career Negotiate salary and even after I got laid off now because of this I have my own business And I was able to replace my corporate salary So this chain of events that [00:06:00] because I was open minded and I'm
[00:06:02] Andrea Elibero: hmm.
[00:06:03] Sonia Urquilla: just go for it The only thing that you can lose is just, you just tried, you learn a new skill, but you're now sure that that's not for you,
[00:06:14] Andrea Elibero: Yeah. Yeah,
[00:06:15] Sonia Urquilla: on to the next thing,
[00:06:17] Andrea Elibero: and you were at the start of your Business career like your entrepreneur career, which is the perfect time to play around Right and to like fuck around and find out and like, you know, right and like see Okay, like let me dabble in this do that see what I actually really do enjoy So it was a really good timing for that as well
[00:06:37] Sonia Urquilla: Yeah, Yeah, I agree.
[00:06:41] Andrea Elibero: And okay, so we're gonna get back to you, but I want to talk about SEO for a moment and in your Genius in your expertise There are I almost feel like SEO became like unsexy but now [00:07:00] that social media is what it is, it's coming back around again in terms of popularity. So I'm curious if you can speak to what you see and maybe the trends and shifts and how you see where it is, what it was before, what's going on now, and maybe even like what you think will happen in the future.
[00:07:20] Sonia Urquilla: I feel that we, you know, the expert, the genius made SEO very unsexy because we have explained it too difficult, too technical,
[00:07:33] Andrea Elibero: Hmm.
[00:07:33] Sonia Urquilla: and where it sometimes is like, just add Bye. Thank you. The target keyword to your title of the page something like that,
[00:07:42] Andrea Elibero: Yeah.
[00:07:42] Sonia Urquilla: sometimes talk about like goes behind the you know? The the of the website that is very technical some coding now and then And we just maybe we don't know how to explain it the concept in simple terms That's what I [00:08:00] feel that is happening because even when I dive in and now and always is like It's like they explain it and it's like, okay, so this is the translation of it pretty much and it's very simple, but it's just, we just made it too, too difficult. Um,
[00:08:21] Andrea Elibero: They needed to take a, they needed to take a marketing class to learn to talk about the transformation and not the technical jargon behind what it is, right? Yeah.
[00:08:29] Sonia Urquilla: why I decided, you know what, I don't like SEO because it was
[00:08:32] Andrea Elibero: Hmm.
[00:08:33] Sonia Urquilla: that, it was very technical advanced. It pretty much it was like just update the titles of your your page for example one of the the videos But they explained it in a way that it was just oh my god, probably I need a phd for this But it was crazy but The future I feel is lot of people and I see that for my clients to even right [00:09:00] now Is seo ai, you know ai seo? uh my clients You Which is very crazy to me right now. I'm getting leads from Chad, GVT. Yes.
[00:09:12] Andrea Elibero: break this down because this is the first I've heard of this. Like, explain that. What?
[00:09:19] Sonia Urquilla: I was, when I saw the analytics of my clients and I saw that people booking calls because they found one blog on Chad, GVT. So
[00:09:31] Andrea Elibero: Wow.
[00:09:32] Sonia Urquilla: questions,
[00:09:33] Andrea Elibero: Yeah. Mm
[00:09:34] Sonia Urquilla: your blog is start coming up. So that's why you have to optimize. And I feel that this is where. People struggle a lot and where we write the content in a very expert level language
[00:09:50] Andrea Elibero: hmm.
[00:09:50] Sonia Urquilla: audience is not searching like that.
[00:09:53] Andrea Elibero: Yeah.
[00:09:54] Sonia Urquilla: your audience is like how to get from point A to point B.
[00:09:58] Andrea Elibero: Yeah, yeah.
[00:09:59] Sonia Urquilla: [00:10:00] we talk about the concept the expert inside of our, you know, service, and that's how we write the blog. And your clients are not still on that level. So that's what I'm doing with my clients. Very simple language.
[00:10:15] Andrea Elibero: And the, for them to show up in AI, this is not anything different you're necessarily doing in the back end of SEO. This is just because the AI is aggregating the search results.
[00:10:27] Sonia Urquilla: Yeah, basically I'm really, really in on how they search.
[00:10:32] Andrea Elibero: Ah, yeah.
[00:10:34] Sonia Urquilla: search, how they speak. that's why I always tell my clients, what do they tell you on the sales calls
[00:10:41] Andrea Elibero: Right. Yeah. So,
[00:10:45] Sonia Urquilla: that language, very voice search optimized, like how they speak
[00:10:50] Andrea Elibero: okay, so let me, I'm going to add to that because this is, I do this and have my clients do it as well. When, and this is for all of you guys, so So Sonia is 100 percent [00:11:00] correct in that when you're talking to potential clients, wherever it is in your DMs, wherever, have a document that's their problems and desires document where you literally copy and paste exactly what your clients are telling you.
[00:11:12] Andrea Elibero: So you can use it in your marketing in their words, whether it's in social media, in the blogs and whatever, like this is super, super important. The end. I'll get off my soapbox, but yeah.
[00:11:25] Sonia Urquilla: Yes. Yes. Please. I 100 percent like just recently I had my client. She's a resume writer we just updated her homepage. That's the only copy we updated, but I added the language and the transformation she gives within three weeks she got her first lead just because that person went into that homepage and everything just Resonated with, like, it was speaking to him in his language,
[00:11:56] Andrea Elibero: And do you think this applies also for service [00:12:00] providers?
[00:12:00] Sonia Urquilla: Everyone, every single one. Yes.
[00:12:03] Andrea Elibero: So, because I don't know that, and correct me if I'm wrong, but do you feel, I don't feel that for instance, virtual assistants, OPMs or whatnot, necessarily focus on updating their website and the SEO on the website and things like that. I don't see that super commonly.
[00:12:21] Andrea Elibero: I see a lot of focus on Instagram or things like that or social media. I don't see a ton of people talking about SEO for online service providers. Yeah. Mm
[00:12:34] Sonia Urquilla: and they're, they put amazing content on social media, and that's it. The visibility just stays there. And my thing is, like, those posts that you're making, I don't know within weeks or within days. They just lost in their algorithm when you have it on your website, it's just always there, especially if you're ranking My client like last [00:13:00] year, we just made a blog.
[00:13:01] Sonia Urquilla: She's still ranking number one after know last year it's still there but all the posts that she made about that topic They're lost on linkedin because you know,
[00:13:14] Andrea Elibero: hmm.
[00:13:15] Sonia Urquilla: platform.
[00:13:16] Andrea Elibero: Right.
[00:13:17] Sonia Urquilla: I see it like I like to repurpose Content like if you have a podcast youtube or your social media Repurpose that into blogs so you get the visibility from multiple touch points pretty
[00:13:32] Andrea Elibero: Mm hmm. Mm hmm. And it's, and it sounds like it lives on.
[00:13:36] Sonia Urquilla: Mm hmm
[00:13:37] Andrea Elibero: So you are really like for all the effort you put into doing your content, you're actually It gets to be there And discoverable for people to find you
[00:13:47] Sonia Urquilla: Yeah.
[00:13:48] Andrea Elibero: sexy. So you need to have a talk with all of your seo friends because they have made it so unsexy But it is amazing Right because people put in so much work into their content for social media [00:14:00] so much work
[00:14:02] Sonia Urquilla: I know. I know. I create my content too. And sometimes it's like, ah, God. Yeah, I know. I get it. My clients do. I see that. I see every, every, you know, service provider out there putting amazing content. And I'm like, I know there's a lot of effort, but you just stay in there like next month that post is going to be lost.
[00:14:24] Andrea Elibero: Yeah
[00:14:25] Sonia Urquilla: you just
[00:14:27] Andrea Elibero: And and in somebody's career In your opinion and again, this is obviously focused on my people. So my service providers When do you think would be a good time to focus on the website? One building it and then to the seo behind the website because those are honestly two different things
[00:14:44] Sonia Urquilla: Yeah, and honestly is Whenever you make the choice to do it. I have clients that right now they haven't even launched the business But we have made the research so all the content the website is [00:15:00] already Optimize for when it goes live is going to get right to them in front of them. other people probably they're on the early stages and they just have the website and never optimize it. Then. We, you are ready then to start touching multiple, uh, platforms and search engines. So it really depends. Like the choices, like, do you want to get there faster? Or like pretty much it's like, it's like, I don't have one answer because I help on different stages, uh, of their business with my clients and. Any words. So, yeah,
[00:15:42] Andrea Elibero: And also, a lot of times the marketing can feel overwhelming for service providers. And so I almost think if you're somebody who is a bit more introverted or you're not like, Oh, I don't love social media. It's not my thing. Then optimizing your website and writing blogs and things like [00:16:00] that could be a really key marketing strategy.
[00:16:04] Sonia Urquilla: yeah, definitely. I was one. I was really shy to be on videos.
[00:16:09] Andrea Elibero: Hmm?
[00:16:10] Sonia Urquilla: here I am. So my website and writing the blogs was a way for me to just share that knowledge. And then, as I keep, you know, Needed to step out of that shelf, pretty much, that's when I started creating more videos, but you're totally right, like if you share your knowledge in another different ways, then until you get ready to like take the stage on that on, you know, you on video or like, like this.
[00:16:39] Sonia Urquilla: Yeah,
[00:16:41] Andrea Elibero: Okay, we're gonna shift back to you and your business. And okay, so we connected originally because you like hunted me down on Instagram and were like, Hi, I do this thing. And I'm like, okay. And I was so impressed [00:17:00] by not only, so you offered to do an audit. Oh, yes. Yes. Right. You offered to do an audit of my website, which.
[00:17:08] Andrea Elibero: It is a little bit sad, which is going to get fixed in the not too distant future. And um, um, and when we hopped on a call, you, the way that you described your services, you had a framework and I am frameworks are, are one of my favorite things to talk about. So I was like, okay, okay. This is like, I wish I could have this recording 'cause I was like, this is how you talk about what you do because you have phases.
[00:17:34] Andrea Elibero: You told exactly like these are the outcomes of each phase. And it was. so crystal clear that I was like, yes, this girl is amazing. Like, I don't even know how much like, like regular or like what the average price of an SEO like person is. And you told me your prices and I was like, okay, like, like it didn't even matter.
[00:17:51] Andrea Elibero: So I would love to hear from you what you
[00:17:55] Andrea Elibero: kind of like your journey in creating your offer and how [00:18:00] you talk about it.
[00:18:01] Sonia Urquilla: Oh my gosh, thank you. That means a lot that you said that to me because, so I started this journey on entrepreneurship, like I'll say last year,
[00:18:13] Andrea Elibero: I was not even that long ago. You have made huge strides. Awesome. Yeah.
[00:18:17] Sonia Urquilla: Yes. Because I got laid off from my full time job on January 24. And I'm like, want to go back to corporate. I want to work with females. So I invested on a business coach. So because I'm like, I don't have the clarity, I don't know how to present myself like nothing, nothing. So investing on a business coach really, really helped me like get the clarity and what I really, really wanted it to offer inside of my program. But not only to give my clients results, but also build a freedom business. Pretty
[00:18:54] Andrea Elibero: Yeah, for yourself.
[00:18:56] Sonia Urquilla: Yeah.
[00:18:57] Andrea Elibero: Right. Exactly. Yes. You're speaking like, yes, this is [00:19:00] like my life. Like you're speaking to my heart. This is what I am also passionate about helping my clients do. So that's amazing.
[00:19:06] Sonia Urquilla: it is. Because, you know, I was really, really, really burned out on corporate. It was, you know, so I didn't want it to replicate that. I knew I couldn't do it alone. So I invested. I, um, I, I invest, you know. Like I like that because that's the only way that I can get faster to where I want to go that's where she really we really died deep. It is a roller coaster of emotions And that's why it means a lot that you said that because my very first Uh calls that I had they were they were horrible. I didn't even know how to Say what I was doing what was inside they had so many questions. So the call was really like asking those Detailed questions instead of they didn't see the value
[00:19:55] Andrea Elibero: Yeah.
[00:19:56] Sonia Urquilla: I
[00:19:56] Andrea Elibero: Oh, wait. So yes, this is so important [00:20:00] because when you, uh, understand on two levels. So one is doing your market research, right? To understand what the pain points are, what the desires are of your ideal clients. And two is to know how to talk about your offer so you can tell them how it, how it solves their problems.
[00:20:17] Andrea Elibero: And it's not just about like, Oh, like I help you with admin or no, it goes deeper than that. And in order to sell effortlessly where it doesn't feel like you're being sold to or doesn't feel like you're selling, like the icky feeling of selling. You need to know how to talk about your offer. And you did that beautifully.
[00:20:36] Andrea Elibero: You know, you were like, yes, like, this is what we do. These are the faces. This is what you get. Like it was, it was beautiful. So, and why did that happen? Because like you said, because you've learned, you invested and you're like, Oh, I need to learn how to do this. Like, so I can actually sell my offer. Mm
[00:20:54] Sonia Urquilla: all. Like, uh, at first I had a script. The script was [00:21:00] not me. It was horrible. Like, you know, I like to talk. I like to vibe. I like to just be myself. And I'm like, even when I, uh, found you on, on IgE or threads, I don't remember. I was like, I'm not going to be, you know, like this sell screen.
[00:21:17] Sonia Urquilla: I'm just going to tell you direct, Hey, I see your website. I think you need this. You want to go for it and you were like, okay. Yes. I'm like it's just I really like to and I feel because we females we like to connect
[00:21:32] Andrea Elibero: hmm.
[00:21:33] Sonia Urquilla: I know very rigid. We like to connect we like to vibe That's what I like to do.
[00:21:39] Sonia Urquilla: So at first I was very like just showing the features my offer but even the features were so messy Cause I was not clear. So they didn't see that value. It's like, very, like the other SEO, very technical,
[00:21:57] Andrea Elibero: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:21:59] Sonia Urquilla: they hated it. [00:22:00] So yeah, it took a lot of practice and also the market research, like you said, the first, since I was very new, I didn't know exactly what they needed it.
[00:22:12] Andrea Elibero: Mm hmm.
[00:22:12] Sonia Urquilla: I thought that's what, this is what they needed. And until you keep, you know, getting a lot of no's. That's where like started start clicking for me. I'm still not perfectly. Yeah.
[00:22:25] Andrea Elibero: And, and I like that, you know, you said, Oh, well, you have to go through all these no's, you didn't know what you were doing, you had these failed calls, and you still kept going and you improved on it. And that is really important too, that if you don't know, if this is your first time doing something, like, it's fine if you suck at it at the beginning.
[00:22:46] Andrea Elibero: Right? Like, as long as you're, if you're like, okay, I know how to do the thing that I want to help people with. Now I have to learn how to market it. I have to learn how to sell it. These are skills that you're not born with. So it's natural that you have to improve upon them. So it's natural that, [00:23:00] you know, maybe it's not like the best the first time you do it.
[00:23:02] Andrea Elibero: Like that's normal. Right? So like, let's normalize the fact that at the beginning it might not be amazing, but you can a hundred percent learn and improve and turn everything around.
[00:23:13] Sonia Urquilla: Yeah, a hundred percent. I and it's not easy at first I was like I will beat myself up like when I got I know I was like, oh my god not gonna be able to do this I'm not good at this and I will get into that syndrome that I was carrying over from corporate It was like But thank God, the support that I also had on inside with my business coach, that really just helped me to just keep on going. Keep on going. One more call. Like my boyfriend said, like, one more day, one more call. Just keep on going. And like that. And, like, at the end of, you know, December last year, was able to replace my husband. My corporate salary, [00:24:00] that I had on, you know, I got laid off on, on January 24th and it was just that just keep on going. If you keep getting no's, you're getting closer to that. Yes. And it was like that pretty much. Yeah.
[00:24:13] Andrea Elibero: it sounded like in terms of your resiliency and your mindset, it sounds like the support had a lot to do with helping you to keep going.
[00:24:22] Sonia Urquilla: Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. A hundred percent, not only for, you know, my business coach, but also my boyfriend. Cause I was, You know, invested and all my savings pretty much were running out. And he was the one that kept saying, you just keep going.
[00:24:38] Andrea Elibero: Oh, that's lovely.
[00:24:40] Sonia Urquilla: Keep going. And then inside of my, my community with the business coach, 'cause it was a group program too, everybody was going through the same thing
[00:24:49] Andrea Elibero: Mm hmm.
[00:24:50] Sonia Urquilla: someone was already there and on the other side, so they kept pushing each other, so yeah.
[00:24:57] Sonia Urquilla: Mm-hmm
[00:24:57] Andrea Elibero: Yeah, so so so important and I [00:25:00] see that with my clients too and I love to see you and they're all supporting each other And everybody is you know, if somebody is going through something somebody else is like, oh no I went through that and it's it's just really validating and To because a lot of people especially when they're starting or not even just when they're starting But a lot of people here are just alone And don't have the support and so they think that oh i'm the only one who's experiencing these things And that's part of my mission with this podcast is that no every single person who has a business has gone through The same exact journey for the most part.
[00:25:33] Andrea Elibero: I see so many patterns Of people who go through very similar things and so just knowing that you're not alone in that You And that having a community, having a support system, having a coach, having, you know, somebody who's been where you were and knows how to get you to the other side is so key to doing it so much faster and easier.
[00:25:55] Andrea Elibero: And I feel so nice, you know, to, to, to be held like that and [00:26:00] to be like, okay, I have somebody I can ask at any time, you know, about any of these things. And it's, it's really, really supportive. So really, really cool.
[00:26:07] Sonia Urquilla: It does, like I feel so grateful and so nice that I, I keep saying yes to the hard things like investing, even though probably I'm just running out of funds, but I know I believe I can do it. I just need you to help me. You the expert, you the coach, I was laid off last year and now I'm, I'm here.
[00:26:31] Sonia Urquilla: And I think also in a little bit of my background is my dad actually had, you know, try five times, um, his business and he failed he did it alone. And I, I was like, I don't want that. I really don't want that. So instead of like going the same road as him, I'm like, there has to be another way because he always, always wanted it.
[00:26:55] Sonia Urquilla: He's. Own business, but he couldn't, you know, he didn't have the [00:27:00] support. And I'm like, I also want to, I wanna help work with other females, so there has to be another way. And that's where the investing in coaching
[00:27:11] Andrea Elibero: Mm hmm.
[00:27:12] Sonia Urquilla: me.
[00:27:12] Andrea Elibero: Mm hmm.
[00:27:13] Sonia Urquilla: yeah, have to do it.
[00:27:16] Andrea Elibero: I love your passion and your why behind your business and I love the fact that now you have a successful business And you can be like look dad be proud of me, you know, like like I'm doing it and I'm living the dream So that's really like it's so nice So so nice So in your journey,
[00:27:34] Andrea Elibero: I, okay.
[00:27:35] Andrea Elibero: So I have two questions about, about tips. So one is SEO wise, website wise, what would be, let's say the top, like one or two things that you would tell somebody to do for their website?
[00:27:47] Sonia Urquilla: One and that's because I always always say this even on my life coaches that I do Um, they keep updating their website, but they don't know that their website is [00:28:00] not even showing up on google sometimes you only have your privacy policy and maybe Your home page on Google and all those blogs or those service pages are not even indexed. That's the technical, you
[00:28:17] Andrea Elibero: Hmm.
[00:28:17] Sonia Urquilla: it's not even in this or showing up on on Google. So, and the reason behind that is because you haven't set up. Google Analytics and your Google Search Console, which is how that's what tells signals Google. I have this website and this website has all these chapters in it.
[00:28:38] Sonia Urquilla: Your blogs, your service pages, for all of it. And, That sometimes Google is not like whenever you put a page up, it's going to know, okay, you have a new blog, let me put it out there. Sometimes they don't even know, it doesn't go on your page. And I see that on my [00:29:00] clients and other websites that I audit, that's the number one, that's
[00:29:04] Andrea Elibero: That makes a lot of sense because I don't think I, you hear people talking about how important it is to then go set up your Google Analytics and whatnot. Like that's the second half of having a website.
[00:29:17] Sonia Urquilla: Yeah,
[00:29:18] Andrea Elibero: know, like, I mean, as somebody who doesn't know very much about SEO, admittedly, but it's funny because there's like, I don't know.
[00:29:25] Andrea Elibero: I find it interesting, right, because especially when you work with somebody who designs your website, like, that should be part of it. And I don't think that it is a lot of the times. Like, you're like, yes, I don't like it. She's rolling her eyes, guys.
[00:29:38] Sonia Urquilla: that, that's the thing I'm right now, like I just have a new client and she paid a website designer to build the whole site. It was, you know, it was a pretty big investment. when I went into the website, not a single page was on Google. I'm like, and she had that for years. And [00:30:00] she was wondering, she kept updating the copy,
[00:30:03] Andrea Elibero: Oh, wow.
[00:30:04] Sonia Urquilla: and she
[00:30:05] Andrea Elibero: Yeah.
[00:30:05] Sonia Urquilla: where is the traffic. I don't see it. And it was just that, like, Your website is not on Google, not even one. Sometimes at least you have your homepage and your content and maybe one or two blogs. But I feel also is because, you know, you're so used to posting on ID or LinkedIn that you put your posts and it's public.
[00:30:30] Andrea Elibero: Right. Yeah.
[00:30:31] Sonia Urquilla: that also comes that, but that's the number one thing I'll say. Because after that, I mean, a lot of people can say, Oh, put your target keyword on your homepage. But what if you don't have, it's not even showing up on Google. So what's the point? at least make sure you have that first. That's the first thing I always check. Yeah.
[00:30:56] Andrea Elibero: Good to know. Good tips. And, and then on [00:31:00] the other side, in terms of your business, in terms of growing your business and your own journey, what would be a top scaling tip or lesson that you've learned that you would like to share?
[00:31:13] Sonia Urquilla: Oh, will say going through this journey has really, really taught me like, um, invest in therapy too Because your your own trauma might bleed into your business
[00:31:33] Andrea Elibero: Oh, it will. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:31:34] Sonia Urquilla: will say that because it took me so long to even post a selfie on, on my content. And it was because I was, I had a lot of low self confidence or like fears of A, B and C. That was one thing. And that really prevented me to be. show my personality who I am even on the sales calls like we go back to it That was also [00:32:00] I didn't Sonia. It was like more of like
[00:32:04] Andrea Elibero: Right.
[00:32:05] Sonia Urquilla: you know
[00:32:05] Andrea Elibero: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:32:07] Sonia Urquilla: Is I think that's one thing I have learned like really just it's a roller coaster of emotions and it's kind of like a self love that you had to learn in this journey because
[00:32:19] Andrea Elibero: really do. Yeah.
[00:32:20] Sonia Urquilla: Yeah
[00:32:21] Andrea Elibero: A hundred percent. I want to go, okay, so I should have asked you this earlier and I didn't, so my bad, but we're going to, cause that's like my normal wrap up questions, but you know, we're going off the cuff here because the other thing that I feel like people are interested in, in what did you discover in terms of, oh, this is a way that works for me in order to actually get clients.
[00:32:41] Andrea Elibero: So what are the things that you found that work well for you?
[00:32:46] Sonia Urquilla: I call it take the stage
[00:32:49] Andrea Elibero: Okay.
[00:32:50] Sonia Urquilla: yeah, that's how I call it. I even call my, my program like that, like on every single stage, for me has been like [00:33:00] on LinkedIn, for example, that was my main platform besides my website. And I've been there. So what I noticed is like, they do this live. events. And sometimes the person in there is like asking questions and everybody is shy to speak.
[00:33:18] Andrea Elibero: Uh huh. Uh huh. Uh huh. Uh huh.
[00:33:22] Sonia Urquilla: this, this has been great. And then they ask me, introduce yourself. And bam, I say, I'm the SEO genius. And then all the people in there will get curious. And then I will get DMs. So take the stage, don't just stay, you know, on your content, support other people.
[00:33:43] Sonia Urquilla: Cause we love when we, I even go into a mass masterclasses and I send them, that was a really great masterclass. let me know where you have another one. And they really feel nice because it takes a lot of effort to do [00:34:00] masterclass will be out there and they feel really nice. Now they remember me. And that's how I got one of my clients, and been, it's going to be a year with her already. just went into her master class, I said, I loved it, like, you for inviting me, and then after that she remembers me. So take the stage. That's one of the things that I'll say. Go publish that video, that selfie, story. Like, show up to other people's events, show
[00:34:33] Andrea Elibero: Yes?
[00:34:34] Sonia Urquilla: And if they ask you, uh, if they ask for somebody to speak on, you know, somebody wants to say something, take the stage. That's one thing I learned, yeah.
[00:34:46] Andrea Elibero: I love that and I love a lot of it too is about just connecting authentically and being a supportive human and a nice human And that really goes far, you know And not just like showing up like sell sell sell like really connecting and you said that [00:35:00] earlier as well about connecting with people and vibing with them and And yeah, so amazing.
[00:35:06] Andrea Elibero: So thank you for sharing that. And so lastly, for real now, how can everybody connect with you? I don't recall if you have a free gift or not, but what are the things that, that we can do to learn all things SEO in a fun way and not in a technical jargony way?
[00:35:24] Sonia Urquilla: So, I'm on LinkedIn mostly, so you can find me on LinkedIn. I'm now trying on, on Instagram and threads. and obviously my website SEO by Sonia dot com so you can find me on here. Just vibe with me. Send me a DM, connect with each other is like, I love that.
